- eBay - I usually steer clear of eBay, just because - although they might have some good catches from time to time - it's usually very overpriced there. Unless someone's getting rid of their old collection, and selling for cheap. (A rarity.)
- Mandarake - They have a variety of the newer stuff. They ship all of their stuff from various storefronts in Japan, but to a foreigner, the purchasing process is very easy. The website is easy to navigate, and I love being able to type in a character's name and series in the search bar, and things actually come up! To search by couple is awesome! The only downside here is that because they ship from certain locations, you have to pay shipping for each one (of course). For instance, you'll have one doujin in your shopping cart from Ikebukuro and another from Nagano. You need to pay shipping for each of those doujin separately. Slightly bummer, but it's understandable, I think.
- Meikido - A second-hand doujinshi store from Hiroshima. Lots of doujin that's constantly changing - they have new and old. On the down side, the actual purchasing process here is awkward for foreigners. I was confused with creating an account and doing my first purchase, but afterwards, everything from then on wasn't bad. Quick word of advice, though; you need to have some knowledge of the Japanese language. Everything in this site is in Japanese.
- Japanese Yahoo Auctions - Plus sides: Variety. And lots of it. You can find virtually series with any pairing here. And for dirt-cheap. We're talking from about 100 yen or more per doujin. Down sides: The dirt-cheap thing is partly a lie. Because many of the seller's don't ship to US, you need something/someone called a Proxy Service to do all the business and transaction work for you. That costs. In addition to that, you not only need to pay the auction price, but a wire transfer, and domestic shipping along with EMS/Fedex shipping, too. Not to mention the dollar to yen conversion sucks as of late. For serious doujinshi collectors only, I would imagine. Personally, I've been a little intimidated to use Yahoo Auctions, but I've heard from reliable sources that yes, it does work.
